The Frequent Flyer Program of Alitalia is Alitalia Mille Miglia.To become a member of the club is very simple and free of charge. A welcome bonus of 2000 miles is also on offer for customers who get themselves registered before December2007.To join the Mille Miglia program, the candidate has to visit an Alitalia office or become a member via internet. A personal code is given to the candidate which is to be coded each time a booking is made.

Miles are the basic units that are calculated by Alitalia MilleMiglia program. Miles are credited on the basis of distance covered or on the minimum number of miles foreseen by the program between the point of departure and to the destination indicated on the ticket. Miles that are earned by different members cannot be credited to the same account. Tickets bought and not used also do not earn miles. Miles can also be earned when one is not flying by using credit cards in hotel chains; car rentals, shopping etc.Miles earned can be redeemed but cannot be converted into money. Miles can be donated to six humanitarian associations supporting underprivileged children, research and countries that are in need of financial assistance.
